My Story

Striving for greatness; I’m currently a senior undergraduate, active-duty army soldier on the verge of blooming into a commissioned officer with a career goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. My story is a testament to transformation, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in both military and medical fields.

My journey began as a civilian, stepping into the demanding world of active-duty military service. This phase of my life was marked by significant challenges, learning the ropes of military life, and adapting to its rigorous demands. While still serving actively, I’ve transitioned to ROTC while pursuing my undergraduate studies, aiming to become a commissioned officer. This shift requires a different kind of discipline – balancing the academic rigors of pre-medical studies with the leadership training of ROTC.

I’ve had multiple turning points where realizing the intersection of my military experience and medical ambitions go hand in hand. This epiphany came during my junior enlisted time as a vet tech, where I applied my military training and leadership skills various times in the veterinary medical setting. This experience crystalized my goal to become an anesthesiologist, merging my military background with my passion for medicine.

Now, as I near the completion of my undergraduate studies and my time in ROTC, I stand on the cusp of becoming a seasoned leader in the Army Officer Corps and embarking on the path to medical school. My journey through active duty, ROTC, and academic challenges has equipped me with unique skills and perspectives valuable in both the military and medical field.

My path has taught me the importance of adaptability, resilience, and the power of integrating diverse experiences. The journey from a civilian to an active-duty soldier to aspiring anesthesiologist has shown me that with dedication and hard work, it’s possible to align one’s career with their passions and make a meaningful impact. As I move forward, I’m committed to serving with honor as an Army officer and making a difference in the field of medicine, aspiring to inspire change.
