Here you can enjoy some of my past experiences

Working with Arkansas Women’s Basketball

I earned a position with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks Women’s Basketball team as Head Manager. Entering a professional world of basketball that takes a lot of commitment, teamwork and leadership has been very beneficial to me. With this job it requires me to communicate with other basketball teams to coordinate their arrivals and any of their personal needs. It brought me a new skill of organization as I have to make the schedules for practice laundry and game day duties. I also have the job of sorting out conflict between the players. While encountering this problem, I had to sit down and speak to both of them individually and together to try and bring us to a resolution. Later I realized, this was a huge learning moment for me as were others, knowing that I could collaborate with others to get a resolution through the hard times. It has taught me how to be professional in every sense and be organized with my time management as it is very time consuming. I developed my understanding how to conflict problems emotionally and practically as it’s required in a business world.

Fostering Sierra

Everyone becomes non biological parents at 16 correct? Well I certainly gained a lot of knowledge when my parents decided they would take in a foster care baby that I was working with at Fellowship of the Hills Counseling named Sierra. While being a full time student and also being on the basketball team, I had to face challenges incorporating taking care of a 1 year old who slept with me in my room for 5 months. I worked very hard and collaborated with different psychologists during this time due to the child I was caring for had stunted cognitive development and non-verbal communication. During this time I developed very complex connections with doctors and with her Foster Care agent. This provides insight into my own experience of having those connections and having perseverance through taking care of a child who had a lack of communicative skills. It provided me with experience in teamwork and determination. With all of this being said, I would like to learn more about working with other individuals and increasing their mental innovations.

Mission Trip

The passion I have for both children and serving others began after my brave move. It was during this time that I stepped out of my comfort zone and went on my first mission trip. My missionary experience involved spending a week in a small town in Honduras called El Eden. Throughout the week, we spent several hours building the town’s unfinished church, painting, cementing, building benches, etc. In addition to this, we spent time with the people of the community, sharing ministry and building relationships. I went into that journey extremely anxious and fearful and had no idea that the fears and anxieties that I was carrying would soon transform into feelings of immense gratitude and a heart-consuming desire to make a difference in the world. I was determined to make my life better by helping others. As having the emotional passion through this, you have to also develop mental determination.
