Greetings, I’m Ackera Nugent, a spirited individual on an exhilarating journey through life. I’ve traversed from Baylor University and now find myself in the thrilling final chapter of my undergraduate adventure at the University of Arkansas, where I’m pursuing a degree in Communication.

My roots trace back to Kingston, Jamaica, where I grew up in a single-parent household, sharing my world with my incredible mom. The path I chose in life was ignited by my passion for running track, a pursuit that not only allowed me to do what I love most but also paved my way through school with a coveted athlete scholarship.

The tale of my journey commenced at Baylor, but the crescendo led me to the University of Arkansas, where my life transformed for the better. In 2023, I emerged as the undisputed champion, conquering the 100 & 60meter hurdles in both indoor and outdoor national competitions. But the pinnacle of my athletic journey took me to the grand stage of the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. There, I sprinted my way into the final showdown, claiming the fifth spot in the world—a testament to years of dedication and unwavering determination.

Beyond the track, I find solace in the embrace of nature, indulging in long walks that allow me to gaze upon the boundless sky. Meeting new people is a constant joy, as I relish the connections that this diverse world brings. Yet, above all, I treasure moments spent with my cherished mom and friends, as these are the true treasures that make my journey worthwhile.
