Nice to see you again!  I’m so glad you decided to continue reading my E-Portfolio, and I hope it is everything you were hoping for and more! I am a Psychology major at the University of Arkansas.  I chose this major because of my interest in the brain, medically and emotionally.  My dream is to work as a neurologist or a neurology physician assistant in the future.  I have been very empathetic since a young age. I am very in touch with my emotions and easily can read others’ emotions. I also get affected easily but the emotions others are feeling. When I see someone sad, I naturally get sad as well. The same goes for any emotion. I am a problem solver as well. I am not one to let things go unless we are able to find a solution and reach closure. The same goes for my work; I will not give up until the problem at hand is solved.  I have a very creative mind which when problem-solving can help open the door to many possibilities of solutions.  Some challenges that are deeply important to me are to help improve mental health, to make people feel better, and to help people who need me.  I have always had an interest in working in the medical field.  Due to my own challenges with mental health, being educated on mental health and how I can understand and help others is very important to me.  Coaching others through the battles in their own mind is crucial in helping them realize and reach their potential while providing them with and teaching them the tools to do so.  I want to have a career where I develop meaningful relationships with others and help them improve physically, mentally, or both!  There is nothing more rewarding than watching people improve and feel better and knowing that you were a factor in their growth.  As part of my career, I would like to further study and discover how mental health affects overall health and vice versa.  The next major step I am taking towards fulfilling my goals and passions discussed thus far is partaking in an internship this summer at Ortho LA, an orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation clinic!  Currently I am looking for opportunities that would allow me to further expand my knowledge on the psychological and medical aspects of the mind and how they can affect one another.  I hope my excitement for the future and what it may hold can be felt through the words I have written!  I am ecstatic for what else I will learn on the journey to my career, and I look forward to sharing that with you!
