Shaping Tomorrow with Stories Shared Today. I chose this statement as my story because it reflects how I see the power of journalism and broadcasting. Stories are more than just entertainment; they inform, inspire, and connect people across different backgrounds. By sharing stories today, we have the ability to influence how people think, feel, and act tomorrow. This six-word story captures both my passion for storytelling and my belief in its long-term impact. For me, a career in journalism is about more than reporting facts, it’s about shaping the future through the narratives we choose to highlight. I want to share stories that amplify voices, bring awareness to important issues, and inspire positive change. This six-word story reminds me that every broadcast, every article, and every shared experience contributes to shaping a better tomorrow.
My Passion: Building Relationships

One of my biggest passions is building relationships in every space I’m a part of. I truly enjoy connecting with people, understanding their stories, and creating environments where others feel comfortable and valued. This matters because strong relationships make teamwork smoother, communication stronger, and storytelling more authentic, especially in journalism.
Moving forward, I want to continue nurturing this strength, because the connections I build today will shape the stories I tell, the collaborations I pursue, and the kind of journalist I become.
My Motivation: Staying Connected and Inspired

What motivates me most is the desire to help people stay informed and feel connected, especially those whose stories aren’t always seen or heard. Growing up in a small community taught me how easily important experiences can go unnoticed, and I’ve carried that awareness with me into everything I do.
This motivation matters because it pushes me to approach my work with empathy, curiosity, and responsibility, whether I’m interviewing someone, collaborating with a team, or contributing to a project that impacts others. I want to continue using my voice, skills, and work ethic to shine a light on stories that matter and make sure people feel included, represented, and valued in the spaces I’m part of.
My Strength: Adaptability

Adaptability has always been one of my strongest qualities, and it shows up in many areas of my life. Whether I’m juggling classes, work, extracurriculars, or new responsibilities, I adjust quickly and stay focused even when plans change or challenges come up. I’ve learned how to step into unfamiliar situations with a positive attitude and figure things out as I go.
Producing the UATV newscast is a prime example: I selected and stacked stories, wrote the content, and ran the show from the booth, all while responding to the fast pace of live television. Experiences like this have made me more resilient, open-minded, and confident in dynamic environments. This strength will continue to serve me well as I take on internships and future career opportunities, where flexibility, problem-solving, and the ability to stay composed under pressure essential.
