My Motivation

Looking up at her, my mother’s eyes shone in the afternoon sunlight filtering through the hospital window. A joyful gaze met mine, her brand new baby girl. The excited squeal of my newly titled “big sister” echoed from the doorway. An immediate outpouring of love enveloped me from my expecting grandparents, celebrating their second grandchild. Everyone together: this, I would soon learn, was my everything.
My earliest memory is one of being surrounded by people. Every interaction throughout my life has, in some way, shaped me. I am a deeply relational person. The intimacy of one-on-one conversations, where we share our deepest worries and brightest hopes, fulfills a fundamental need within me to be known and seen. I thrive in the embrace of close relationships. It has always been another human being who has carried me through my most challenging moments. The very presence of the people around me serves as a constant source of motivation, urging me forward through both the ease and the hardship that life inevitably brings.
My Passion

My deep-seated motivation in relationships naturally extends into a profound passion for the well-being of others. This intrinsic link shapes my career aspirations. I seek not merely a job, but a vocation centered on the success and welfare of individuals. My aim is to make a tangible and positive impact on the lives around me. While I recognize the limits of my control, I am committed to cultivating a safe and welcoming presence for those I encounter and to pursuing a career that authentically reflects this core mission.
My Question To Answer

Human creation is not an accident. I believe there is a purpose in our existence on this Pale Blue Dot (a piece my college choir performed). My curiosity leads me to wonder why. Why do we have relationships with other humans? Why do we seek love from others? Why is there pain in rejection? Why do we get dementia? Why do neurological disorders exist? While I may not be able to answer every question, my aim is to answer at least one in order to give reason behind the intricate complexities of our world.
