Critical Thinking and safety
Critical thinking saved my life. I was driving home for spring break in my freshman year of college when it started raining. It began raining so hard that I could not see as well. Without noticing the car in front of me put on its brake lights I narrowly missed hitting the car in front of me. Because of this, I decided to pull over and wait for the rain to die down. This shows how I use critical thinking and weigh the risks of driving in the harsh storm and the time I’d lose waiting for the rain to pass.
Using critical thinking in the real world helps me better implement it in an academic setting. I hone my critical thinking throughout the years of academic practice and involvement in analytical research. Using critical thinking I can better determine the best course of action to be taken in an experiment when met with complications such as no-show participants or outlier data. By actively using my critical thinking I possess the forethought to weigh my options of driving in the rain or pulling over and used critical analysis to form a decision on my next course of action.
Teamwork makes the dream work
I used teamwork to save me from failing my freshman year of college. During my freshman year psychology class, I needed help retaining material which caused my grade to slip. We had a group project describing a psychological condition in a PowerPoint that was worth a large part of our grade. Using teamwork I contributed substantially to the group while acquiring new ways of thinking for me to better understand the material. Because of this, my group produced a great presentation and received an A for the assignment resulting in me passing the class.
By continuously using teamwork throughout my academic career I desensitized to asking others for help, allowing me to exchange ideas and knowledge with my peers. Teamwork allows me to expand my networking capacity while acquiring new information that moves progress toward a common goal.
Technology
Through my experience with AI, I’ve come to understand the importance of framing prompts effectively. By providing the AI with detailed information about myself, I can establish a clearer point of view for the AI to provide feedback. This allows the AI to adopt my perspective and offer more relevant insights. I’ve learned that the way I describe myself to AI can significantly enhance the quality of feedback received, as it helps the AI understand my unique voice and perspective.
When it comes to using AI for writing, I believe in its value as an editing tool rather than a primary content generator. AI draws from various online sources to provide feedback, making it less suitable for generating truly original content. Instead, I plan to utilize AI primarily for refining and polishing my writing. To maintain the integrity of my ideas and ensure they remain my own, I’ll first formulate my writing independently before seeking AI revision. Once I submit my writing for AI feedback, I’ll focus on refining the formatting and wording while staying true to the message and narrative I’ve established
