WELCOME TO MY PORTFOLIO!

Picture of Lucy Smiling

When I was six years old, my mom asked me, “How are you always so positive and happy?” I responded, “It’s just the way God made me, I’m built happy!” All these years later, I still believe that. I’m wired to see the good, and I know this perspective makes me a valuable employee. While others may get caught up in the small details, I naturally look ahead to the bigger picture and help shift conversations from negative to positive. I’ve always had a knack for spotting people’s strengths and patterns, and then using those insights to benefit the whole group. Friends and coworkers often call me “forever the optimist,” because I naturally reframe setbacks in ways that guide others towards a positive perspective.

My ability to connect with people has shaped my experiences in meaningful ways. In high school, I started a club during COVID to create community at a time when it was needed most. In college, it has allowed me to branch out across campus and build relationships in diverse groups. In the workplace, it has helped me become a trusted team member who fosters collaboration and cultivates a sense of belonging. This passion for connection has also strengthened my leadership skills, as people know they can come to me for support, encouragement, or guidance.

I meet challenges with optimism and resilience because I believe that solutions can always be found and that things have a way of working out. This mindset fuels both my personal and professional growth, and it’s what I hope to bring to every future role. Wherever my career takes me, I intend to lead with kindness, courage, and optimism.
