Teamwork & Critical Thinking

Teamwork

Cleaning a neglected bathroom honed my teamwork skills during a semester-long volunteer project in my sophomore year. In Small Group Communication, my team of six chose 7 Hills, an organization supporting the homeless. I coordinated our efforts, and we tackled the grimy bathrooms. We divided tasks based on strengths and completed the job using a “divide and conquer” strategy. This experience taught me the importance of communication, strategic task allocation, and leveraging diverse strengths. The bonds formed during this project highlighted the impact of effective teamwork and led to lasting friendships.

Critical Thinking

During my Marketing Internship, I was asked to create a content calendar, but the available photos were insufficient. With a tight deadline and no option to acquire new content, I used Photoshop and Canva to transform the existing images into engaging graphics. This approach not only boosted our page engagement but also earned me praise for my creativity.

Throughout the internship, I continued to create interactive graphics and analyzed their performance. This critical thinking and adaptability allowed me to refine our social media strategy and produce impactful content, ultimately motivating me to excel.
