Senior Pictures – Canon R100 DSLR

Photography has always been a beloved hobby of mine because it brings me immense joy. My favorite subjects are people because I love capturing the unique beauty in each individual. I had a wonderful time taking my friends’ senior pictures, capturing moments they will cherish for a lifetime to celebrate their achievements.

Parenting Styles in Conflict Situations – Final Cut Pro

Our final project in my Family Communication class involved creating an informational video on one of the key concepts we studied. My team explored various parenting styles and determined which style is most effective in conflict situations.

Each team member selected a different research article examining children’s responses to their parents’ parenting styles. We used these findings to support our hypothesis and collaboratively developed a script to present the information.

My role in the team was to produce the video. I ensured we had voice recordings from each member and sourced stock videos to complement our narration. I used my experience with Final Cut Pro to edit and compile all of our information into a short video to adhere to the project guidelines. I had such a fun time editing and was thrilled that I got to use my skills to help my team.

Communication Theory of Resilience – DaVinci Resolve

When tasked with explaining a theory of communication to someone who has never heard of it before, my group had to get creative. In my Contemporary Communication Theory class, our final project was to make a 5-7-minute video with a team of five. My group chose the Communication Theory of Resilience, which focuses on how communication is crucial in how individuals bounce back from adversity.

To explain the different processes of this theory, we found multiple research articles that could help us explain them. As a group, we recorded our voice audio in a studio on campus and found stock footage online to make a cohesive narrative. This project made us well-versed in the theory and creatively fulfilled us. We got an excellent grade and our video was even used as an example for future classes.

Creating videos has always been a passion of mine and I loved that I got to work on one for a class. This project demonstrated our teamwork and technological proficiency and deepened our understanding of the theory. I aim to apply this knowledge to future endeavors, leveraging my creative and collaborative skills to tackle new challenges.
